18 years…that’s how long we have not had Thaddeus with us. Thad was with us for 17 years and went to his heavenly home 18 years ago. It’s still difficult at times, but we know he's in a better place. Thad, we will always miss you lots! ❤️❤️
We visited Thad in St Francis Xavier’s Church in the morning, together with MaMa.

In the evening, we had dinner with Thom, Fr Cary, Fr Adrian, Godpa Matthew, Godma Reggie and Theodore at Cheng Hoo Tian Restaurant. Kim could not join us, as she had just delivered Baby Kendall Colette, Thad’s beautiful niece and our darling granddaughter.

For the past 18 years, we have remembered and celebrated Thad's time with us through Thad's Memorial Runs at the RI (JC) stadium. This year was no different and we had our run on Sunday 22 Jun 2025. Our relatives and friends would join us every year wearing pink, in such a strong show of love.
Every RI/RJC Principal and Dean (CCA) past and present, have warmly and kindly allowed us to use the stadium, as it was where Thad used to run and train, as part of RJC's cross country team. We are forever grateful for this kind gesture. Thank you RI/RJC and staff!
This year, Thad’s 18th memorial run was attended by 78 friends and relatives. We are so happy and appreciative that there are still so many friends and relatives, who continue to love Thad and support us. We welcomed more first timers, all of them expressing inspiration and appreciation to be able to attend the run.

We thank Paul Rodrigues for kindly saying the opening prayer for Thad’s run. He has always acceded to our request to do this, year after year. Paul is George’s good friend and school mate since Secondary One.
Opening Prayer for Thaddeus’ 18th Memorial Run
Dear Heavenly Father
We gather today, united in friendship, but also in love and profound gratitude, as we remember Thaddeus Cheong. We thank You for the precious gift of his life, for the time he spent with us and for the countless ways he enriched our lives.
We recall his spirit, his kindness, his passion and his strength. We ask for Your comfort for his family and all who love him. May we feel Your presence and Your peace, knowing that Thaddeus’ memory lives on in the hearts of so many.
As we embark of this memorial run, we pray for safety and strength for all participants. May this event be a fitting tribute to Thaddeus, a moment of unity and a celebration of his enduring spirit. May every step we take, be a testament to the love and respect we hold for him.
Bless this gathering, bless this run and bless the memory of Thaddeus! Amen!
This year, our college mate, Alfred Wong, attended for the first time. We have not met Alfred, since we left school in 1979, that’s 46 years ago. Alfred is pictured below (with cap), with Noel Ong, another of our school mate.

This year, George completed his 5km run in 33:42:01

Thad’s cross-country friends from RJC have joined us every year and we are grateful for their love, friendship and support.
Tiffany and Alex had to leave a little earlier.

We miss Thad dearly, but we will meet him one day. Love you lots, Thad!
With love Mum, Dad, Thom, Kim and Kendall

Thanks Aunt Angie and Uncle George for doing this every year. It’s a special time to remember and honour Thad, and I noticed Uncle George in recent years dedicating the run to other couples who have lost loved ones too 😢🥹. It’s becomes tenfold more meaningful and blessed when Thad’s run goes beyond for him. We remember him with fond memories and friendship and smiles 🥹
In My Heart and My Prayers always xxx 💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏
Many of us miss Thad but we are all comforted to know he is in a better place and well looked after by our Lord. He is always fondly remembered and close at heart with us.💖💖🙏🏻
Will be thinking about you more than ever today.
Thinking of you all. 🙏
Thinking of you from Japan 💕🙏
Beautiful boy taken too soon ... but smiling down on his family with His Heavenly Father 🙏
