Thad’s 15th Year in Eternal Kingdom

In Eternal Kingdom, Memorial Runs by Webmaster

15 years ago on 24th June 2007, Thaddeus went home to be with our Lord. Three months ago on 24th March 2022, he would have been 32 years old.

Today on 24th June 2022, which is also the Feast Day of St John the Baptist, we continue to celebrate Thad’s life. We visited Thad’s niche with mah mah.

In the evening, we had a dinner celebration with Fr Cary, mah mah, godparents Reggie and Matthew and Theodore at Peng Restaurant.

The Sunday before, on 19th June 2022, we held Thad’s 15th memorial run at RI stadium. It was attended by nearly 90 friends and relatives. After 2 years hiatus, we were so glad that there are still so many friends and relatives, who continue to love Thad. We sincerely thank the Principal of RI, Mr Frederick Yeo for allowing us the use of the stadium and Mr Gary Ortega the Dean of CCA and PE for co-ordinating the event with us.

We were joined by two sets of newly bereaved parents, Ginette and Raymond, who lost their daughter Caroline and Ee Choo and HC Goh, who lost their son Heng Yi, where we dedicated the run to their children. We also welcomed many first timers, all of them expressing inspiration and appreciation to be able to attend the run.

Thad’s ex-cross country mates – quite a few already married and brought along their spouses

Our very supportive ice cream vendor, Mr and Mrs Chua, have been with us over the last 15 years, except 2020 and 2021, due to COVID safety measures.

Our friend Moe Gibson joined us all the way from England. She did her walk in pink!

After the memorial run, we had dinner at Hualong Seafood. It was attended by Reggie, Matthew, Theodore and his grandma, Francis and Alice, Betty and Felipe, Chloe and Josh, Alice, Everly and Louis, Margaret, Anna and Jacky.

Our friends and relatives continue to support and love us and we really appreciate it.

Our Facebook post on 24th June 2022, garnered 47 Loves and Likes. We received many messages of love and support.

So happy to see so many familiar faces at the run. Our experiences in life, especially the tough and unthinkable ones, marinated with God’s love, has amazing power to lift the spirits of broken sails. We may not know why God permits such sufferings, but it is enough to know that God is sovereign and He is in control and the same loving God yesterday, today and forever.

Thad’s story told by you, refreshes dry bones and bring strength to the weary hearted. Please continue to tell Thad’s story.
